It’s coming up to that time of year we all love. Lights, decorations, gifts, delicious food, and time with your family and friends. How exciting does it sound!?
Christmas and New Year are just around the corner, and our gut knows it.
Taking proper care of it will be essential to spend these holidays harmoniously with our bodies.
Eat Greek yogurt or kefir.
These are full of healthy bacteria that will help balance your gut. Consuming it first before your morning meal will be best, and both options help your digestion and reduce abdominal bloating.
Water, water, water.
Approximately 60% of our bodies are made of water, making daily water intake an essential part of a balanced diet, gut health issues or not. When it comes to a healthy gut, drinking enough water is key to proper digestive processes. Aim to consume at least half your body weight in ounces of water each day. Water from now on is your best friend!
Shake that body.
Give love to your body through movement. The simple act of walking helps move nutrients and acids through your intestines faster. A short walk after a big holiday dinner will help your digestive system process the food.
Fiber for a balanced gut.
When consumption levels are high but fiber levels are low, your gut becomes imbalanced, leading to inflammation and significant gastrointestinal issues. Along with enjoying your favorite meals this holiday season, be sure to include fiber-rich foods such as whole grains, beans, broccoli, nuts, and avocado.
In the end, the most important thing and what has worked for me is to deep trust in God and my intuition . I know that if I keep trusting my body’s signs, I will not go wrong. (I have endless proof of success with this in the last 5 years of scary changes, including divorce, a new career, becoming a nomad, getting married again, launching a business, & hitting multiple $10k months during a pandemic…I’m talking the walk, people!)
I honor my unique signs of hunger and fullness . This is a non-negotiable and the basis for all intuitive living. If we choose to ignore our body’s signs of our basic needs , how easy will it be to ignore my body and the universal signs of where my life is going?!
Working together, we will discover your unique signs of hunger/fullness so you can apply it to food and where you are hungry for more in life.
Enjoy this holiday and make it unforgettable for you, your body, and your soul. I hope that 2022 will be full of blessings and new goals to accomplish, and I will be here to help you whenever you need it.
